Production company Soup Film has recently signed international filmmaking talents 'Michel and Nico', two brothers from the South of France. Speaking about its most recent onboard, Ada Zuiderhoek from Soup Film, said: "It's not every day you find directors with such unique handwriting, where exciting filmmaking and an empathy usually only known in documentaries, go hand in hand".
The brothers are a self-made director duo that took the advertising world by storm since their beginnings merely three years ago. Winners of various awards and accolades and shortlisted for the Young Directors Award at Cannes three years in a row, Michel and Nico keep expanding their scope from sports and travel to storytelling, cars and lifestyle.
The one-time architect and social worker together developed a contemporary form of storytelling that warms the heart, by keeping a close relationship to their protagonists, no matter the subject or length of the format. "We have the experience of our adult lives and the enthusiasm of youth – it’s a very good combo", they say about themselves. "Isa and Stephan at Soup films are the first people who came to me with really positive feedback four years ago, when I was only reaching for advice and professional eyes regarding our work. We were in friendly contact since, and today it’s time to join forces with common passion and ambition", Michel explains of their choice for German representation.
