Director Zen Pace's and Windy Films' powerful CBS commercial/Public Service announcement, SEEUS, has been nominated for 44th annual Sports Emmy Awards for Outstanding Public Service Announcement. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the ceremony, which takes place on Monday, May 22.
The #See Us PSA was also honored as a Webby Honoree and won three awards at the Anthem Awards, including best media campaign, best branded content, and best national campaign.
The PSA is a groundbreaking piece that sheds light on the hundreds of anti-LGBTQ laws that continue to be filed each year. States continue to put forward hundreds of bills and laws that seek to erase queer people. In the national campaign for CBS, Pace speaks directly to the audience, asking them to imagine a world where queer lives have vanished.
"#See Us is an important project for me and my team, as it tackles a crucial issue that affects millions of people in our country. The PSA challenges our audience to confront the reality of the current state of LGBTQ rights and to take action," says Director Zen Pace.
The #See Us PSA was produced by Windy Films with Peter Pascucci as the cinematographer. It has received widespread acclaim for its powerful message and expert execution. The Sports Emmy Awards nomination, Webby Honoree, and Anthem Awards recognition are a testament to how this groundbreaking piece has been received.
"We are thrilled to see #See Us celebrated for its excellence and impact. It is an honor to be nominated for the Sports Emmy Awards and to receive recognition from the Webby and Anthem Awards," says Director Zen Pace.
Zen Pace is an Unsigned Director, their US commercial manager is Scott Pugnetti of Equals MGMT. They are represented by Aylene Gardiner Agency internationally.
The winners of the 44th Sports Emmy Awards will be announced on May 10, 2023, during a virtual ceremony. The SEEUS PSA is available to view on CBS and online.
