Blur has acquired Brazilian director Vellas for Spanish representation. Vellas started working in advertising as an art director at DM9DDB and Ogilvy & Mather. He then worked as a motion designer and directed animation films. After three years, Vellas decided to move in the direction of fiction films, and was hired to direct the opening titles for the VMB (Music Video Brazil) for MTV. After this experience, he started working more and more with cameras and, in 2013, directed his first spot for Leica - one of his most famous and awarded campaigns. That same year, he received the “Saatchi & Saatchi New Director” Awards.
During his career, Vellas has won six Cannes Lions - including a Gold Award in Cinematography - two D&AD Yellow Pencils, two Gold Awards at Clios, five FIAPS, five Ojo de Iberoamérica (including a Grand Prix) and other local awards.
Now, Vellas chooses Blur for his representation in Spain. The director is also represented internationally by Somesuch (US & UK), Rebolucion (Latin America), Anorak (Germany), Frenzy (France), Think Cattleya (Italy), Hamlet (Asia) and, he is partener and co-founder of his own production company, Saigon Films.
