Director Sterling Larose Joins Wallop Film

Sterling Larose is noted for his mixed media work in the music video space, working with companies like Warner Brothers Music, Sony Music Entertainment, the NFB, Universal Music Canada, and more. His style is colourful, vibrant, and in your face as he combines footage that is shot on set with an extensive post production process that requires him to cut up, draw, and print the frames. The result is a stunning visual cacophony. Larose’s unique blend of analogue and modern aesthetics alongside his unique techniques has led his work to be featured in numerous publications as well as amassing him 30k+followers across Instagram and TikTok, as well as a recent Juno nomination. 

“He is approaching filmmaking like no other” said producer Luis Guerra, “we’re all super excited to have Sterling on our team and can’t wait to see what we do next”. They have both collaborated on projects like Uncle Rico by Snotty Nose Rez Kids and Right Before My Eyes for SonReal. 

Growing up in Nanaimo, BC, Sterling now calls Vancouver his home. Also a talented photographer, he has extensive experience behind the camera capturing some of Canada’s most exciting acts. After going to Capilano University’s film program (for a year or two), Sterling quickly began making a name for himself in the music video space by working with Vancouver legends like Mother Mother and SonReal.
