Pomp&Clout has announced the signing of LA-based director Najeeb Tarazi for US commercial representation. Inspired by his early days as a technical artist at Pixar, Tarazi is able to take a simple visual trick and use it to develop characters and stories. His ability to marry empathetic grace with technical expertise invites his viewer to take a rewarding dive into the unknown.
Tarazi’s music video 'Walk the Walk' for Gaz Coombes that implemented a David Hockney collage-inspired technique was an official selection for the 2019 SXSW Film Festival after being nominated for Best Alternative video at the UKMVAs in 2018.
Tarazi works with brands like Girlfriend Collective, Revolve, and Everlane to offer a clean, refreshing perspective on contemporary fashion, while concurrently collaborating with artists like Nick Murphy, X Ambassadors and Delta Heavy to direct 'White Flag'; a fantastical pixellated journey into space that has over 23 million views to date, earning him a nomination in the UKMVA’s Best Dance Video category.
Pomp&Clout founder Ryan Staake commented: “We’re incredibly excited to have Najeeb join our eclectic roster at Pomp&Clout. His proven capability in post and CG work serve as a powerful basis for his continued work in live action and beyond. Oh and he went to Harvard for Physics so he’s probably smarter than all of us combined.”
