Mindseye has welcomed director Kate Herron to the MindsEye roster.
Kate is a writer-director in comedy and drama and is passionate about making female-driven stories that are as cinematic as they are funny. She is a Screen International Star Of Tomorrow, Broadcast Hot Shot, Forbes 30 under 30 and is on the BBC Hot New Talent List.
If those accolades weren’t already enough, last year she was handpicked by Idris Elba to direct every episode of drama mini-series FIVE BY FIVE for the BBC, which he exec-produced and starred in.
Her latest short film, SMEAR, was released last week to coincide with International Women’s Day and was promptly picked up by Paul Feig (director of Bridesmaids) as "Very funny. Great work by a gifted group of filmmakers." The short is a lube-tastic comedy-horror inspired by Gremlins, Tremors and Little Shop of Horrors, about a woman going for her first pap-smear test. Be prepared!
