Jason van Bruggen is a Dutch-Indonesian-Canadian visual artist whose work spans motion pictures and photographs.
He has worked in more than 100 countries, capturing breathtaking moments in the most remote corners of the planet.
His commercial work is infused with documentary process and seeks out deeply human narratives and truths while demonstrating a clear appreciation for the natural world and our role within it.
Jason's recent project 'Runner 321’ for Adidas, has just been honoured with six 2023 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity awards, including the prestigious Grand Prix. This remarkable story chronicles the incredible trailblazing journey of Chris Nikic - Ironman, an inspirational athlete with Down Syndrome who shattered barriers by becoming the first neurodivergent person to complete both the Boston Marathon and the Ironman Triathlon.
Jason's passion for storytelling work in the most remote and austere edges of our planet has been featured by brands including Canada Goose, Patagonia and Arc'teryx.
His work as a visual artist has been profiled by National Geographic, Outside Magazine, and The Explorers Journal, and his film work has aired on networks around the world, including CNN, BBC, PBS, CBS, CBC, and SRF1, and has been shown at some of North America’s most prestigious film festivals.
