DigitasLBi, a global marketing and technology company, has announced the appointment of Max Fresen to the newly created role of SVP, Creative of Experience Design. Fresen joins the agency from Isobar, where he served as SVP, Executive Creative Director. Fresen will be based in Boston, reporting to Andrew Carlson, head of Experience Design for DigitasLBi North America.
In this role, Fresen will lead client teams to define interactive vision and develop integrated strategies for brands. He’ll promote creative products across networks and will be responsible for developing and retaining creative talent, while ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the creative output for agency clients.
“Max has a unique blend of talents with a passion for understanding human behavior and technology,” says Carlson. “His 20 years of experience identifying and engaging audiences will build on our best-in-class Experience Design group.”
Over the past 12-months, the DigitasLBi Experience Design capability has won nearly a dozen prestigious accolades for its work from IAB Mixx, The Mobile Marketing Association Smarties, The Hatch Awards, and W3.
Fresen brings two decades of industry experience as a visual artist, student of human behavior, brand storyteller, and multidisciplinary team architect and leader. Along with a background in programming, Fresen has a passion for identifying and analyzing the frictions of people and markets, while inventing solutions for brands and disrupting outmoded industries and models.
As ECD at Isobar, Fresen worked with fellow leaders to build a cutting-edge full-service agency on the bones of a tech fulfillment shop (Molecular). He was responsible for the overall development and quality of the creative department for North America, combining art, copy, and code into a unified service offering. At Isobar, Fresen oversaw a department that won over a dozen awards in 2012, was short-listed for a 2013 Cannes Cyber Lion, and took home five gold medals in the 2013 Hatch Awards.
