Recently, Dentsu One Bangkok created a campaign entitled 'MEMO_o_ke' in partnership with The Alzheimer Foundation of Thailand.
The campaign aims to help improve the lives of people living with Alzheimers in the country through regular karaoke sessions, where some of the letters to popular songs are missing, to utilise a technique that is proven to help combat the memory-related issues the condition can cause.
Read the details about the campaign below.
Challenge
There are currently 800,000 people who suffer from Alzheimer’s in Thailand and the number is still rising by 30,000 per year.
Solution
Studies show that apart from entertaining, singing can also help boost memory among the elderly.
The Alzheimer Foundation of Thailand sees the importance of this and would like to enhance it to help patients of Alzheimer’s.
Dentsu One Bangkok then created ‘MEMO_o_ke” a karaoke song with some parts of the lyrics missing to help stimulate the elderly's memory and help slow down Alzheimer's.
People who interested can sing these songs at MEMO_o_ke Youtube Channel and Playlist of Metro Records or take a CD from partnering stores.
