British mockumentary ‘Swede Caroline’, a co-production of Deadbeat Studios and Belstone pictures, walked away with this year’s ‘Spirit of Raindance’ award after its sold out premier at the festival.
The film, starring Jo Hartley, Celeyn Jones, Aisling Bea and Richard Lumsden, follows competitive big vegetable grower Caroline Shumpert as her competitive marrows are stolen and her friends are inexplicably kidnapped.
Directed by Brook Driver and Finn Bruce, ‘Swede Caroline’ won the award described as ‘embodying the essence of Indie Filmmaking and the spirit of the festival’.
“It was a dream premiering in London at Raindance, and to pick up an award is extra special. We can’t wait to share the film more widely’ said co-director Brook Driver.
