Department will specialise in connecting brands with the gaming world

Right as you read these words, 24 million people in Poland are playing games.

This is why the DDB Warsaw agency is launching the DDB FTW Warsaw, the Polish branch of FTW, the global gaming agency. It will be a department specialising in connecting brands with the gaming world in a way that will be original and faithful to gamers, in quality creation, 360° communication for gamedev clients, and in creating narrative forms such as game trailers, branded content, and digital worlds.

Gamers account for 40% of people globally

Video games are no longer just entertainment - this is a lifestyle and a powerful marketing tool. That is why DDB Worldwide has entered this key territory as early as 2020 by establishing a global gaming agency, the DDB FTW (For the Win), in Prague. It now has branches all over the world, including Germany, Hong Kong, China, Brazil, France, and Italy, among others. Poland is now joining this global gaming team.

DDB FTW Warsaw is made up of passionate gamers covering various areas of expertise, including strategy, creative, gaming marketing and immersive stories, innovation and technology.

Who's behind it?

Asia Komorowska, head of creative and narrative - she gained her copywriting experience at GPD, BBDO, TalentMedia, VMLY&R and DDB agencies, co-creating local and regional campaigns for such brands as Cheetos, Samsung, Durex, Uniqa, and Maspex. She wrote scripts and co-created creative concept for the 'Tiger's City' gaming campaign, a digital series in the gangster soap opera genre where streamers played roles in a world created for the Tiger brand set in 'GTA V'. She has also co-created the award-winning 'We Play Without Excuses' gaming campaign for the Durex brand. In addition to her work in advertising, she works as a screenwriter for films, series, and games.

Asia said, "My adventure with gaming began when an unsuspecting uncle gave me 'Diablo II' as a gift for my.... first communion. I would stay up all night, my CRT screen would nearly burn up along the way. I have spent hours on 'Captain Claw,' 'The Sims,' 'Mario,' 'Worms,' 'Stronghold,' the old 'Civilizations'... and then role-playing games began for me , and this has been going on to this day."

Adam Retmaniak, business development manager - he started at DDB Warsaw, then he worked at both network and local agencies, including VMLY&R, Heart&Brain, 2012 Agency, Feeders. He has created advertising campaigns for such brands as T-Mobile, Allegro, Danone, Mazda, BRW,FoodCare, Grupa Żywiec, RTV Euro AGD, Maspex, Tarczyński, and Diageo. One of his first gaming projects was the co-creation of the première edition of the 'Warka Planet of Gamers' platform, a campaign that gained recognition in the industry. Then, his professional career path led to working on the mobile game 'The Witcher: Monster Slayer' - he served as Associate Producer in the marketing department of Spokko studio, a part of the CD PROJEKT Group.

Adam said, "I started my gaming adventure with a Commodore 64, and then had my first PC at home at the age of six to play 'The Teletransport Smurf' and 'Discworld 2.' I would peek at my brother and sister play Doom, Carmageddon and Phantasmagoria in the evenings. I spent much of my life and university studies playing 'FIFA' and 'Football Manager.' I have two consoles and a PC. I love games with elaborate storyline and unusual mechanics, so I don't avoid indie games and jRPGs.
