Doobie White, editor and sound designer for Los Angeles- based editorial and post-production company Therapy Studios brings his unique blend of visual and audio artistry to the production of ‘My Way’ a :60 Sinatra-themed spot directed by Paul WS Anderson for DDB Tribal Berlin for the 2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI featuring Sinatra’s iconic song.
The karaoke and YouTube shaky-camera versions of ‘My Way’, including a rendition with panpipes, were cleverly edited to highlight the GTI slogan “Often copied. Never Equaled.” Just as these imitations can’t equal the real Sinatra, other hatchback models can’t equal the new Golf GTI. White emphasizes this juxtaposition with his carefully crafted editorial and sound design while the authentic Sinatra accompanies sleek cinematic scenes of the GTI driving down the Vegas strip, finally closing on the “roof” of the Treasure Island casino.

“Sinatra, Vegas, Volkswagen, what else could you ask for? It was really great to be able to cut this spot with such an iconic piece of music, and interweaving the covers made it all the more fun,” says White of the working on the project.
