Starsky & Hutch star sings his way through Britain in spot by isobel

70’s icon David Soul gets behind the wheel to star in feel-good TV campaign for National Express. The campaign created by isobel features Soul, who found fame starring in cult cop show Starsky & Hutch, driving a National Express coach to the soundtrack of his number one hit - Silver Lady.

The ad, which launched on Saturday 14th June, is part of the ‘moments’ campaign for National Express which brings to life those special occasions that people travel for and look forward to. It features the end line: ‘way to go’. Commenting on the TV, Rob Fletcher, Creative Partner at isobel says: “This ad is all about selling great memories and brilliant moments. It captures the emotions of those journeys to somewhere or someone special”.

The ad, which was directed by Olly Williams (an experienced music video director working with the likes of Robbie Williams and The Gorillaz) is part of a new fully integrated brand campaign for National Express that includes outdoor, print, digital and social.

“We are truly excited about this new creative approach.” Explains Sue Gee, Head of Campaigns and Advertising, National Express” It’s big, bold and different. And we believe it will help engage a whole new generation of coach travellers. Around 18 million journeys are made on our coaches every year and this campaign offers a unique window into some of the different reasons why people travel in a warm and engaging way”.
