'Simon Community' spot highlights the ongoing struggle of the Irish homeless

Dave Tynan and Irish International Combine to Tackle Homelessness

With 220,000 views on Facebook already, Dave Tynan has directed a hard-hitting piece for the Simon Community. With creative by Des Kavanagh and Kirk Bannon at Irish International, the spot highlights the ongoing homeless crisis in Ireland at a pivotal time. The inimitable rapper and actor Tommy KD reads the proclamation from a sleeping bag in various locations that saw action during the Easter Rising Centenary, poignantly often home to rough sleepers today.

Director Dave Tynan says: "There's a serious homelessness crisis in Dublin; you can't be in the city centre without seeing sleeping bags everywhere. I hope we made a provocative piece that asks why this is the case one hundred years on from the proclamation of our independence. Thanks to Des and Kirk at Irish International for such a strong and honest approach to the issue."
