Twist announced the addition of Daniel Mirsky to its staff sales team, to reinforce the unusual, existing internal sales model. Mirsky, a full-time staff member, joins staff sales team members Rob Neill and Kathryn Lotis to represent Twist’s Directorial roster which includes: Rich Michell, Matt Pittroff, Scott Pitts, Chris Stocksmith and Marc André Debruyne; and recent roster addition Tomato, the world-renowned Integrated Creative Collective.
All Twist staff members come from a background rooted in creativity - - most of them from theatrical performance. The mutual loyalty the Twist team and Directors have emerges from a shared understanding of what it feels like to be supported in the creative process. Staff members are encouraged to explore their creativity, and the company makes accommodations to stand by that. Mirsky moved from Texas to pursue acting and writing with the theatre company The New York Neo-Futurists. Now a company ensemble member, Daniel spent years prior working for the Neos as a Technical Director and artistic collaborator. Similarly, staff member Rob Neill was able to work over this last year from the road, where he simultaneously did a tour of “Peter & The Starcatcher.” Team member Kathryn Lotis has been known to use her history as a singer to treat close clients to more memorable voice messages.
Executive Producer, Amyliz Pera, has been with Twist since its inception in 1997 and has continued to build Twist with this inspired philosophy. “When Twist Founder and President Jim Geib first recruited me to work with him, I mentioned that I also had an opportunity to do a long run of a show I really wanted to work on,” she explains. “Among other things, Jim came from a theatre background as a Stage Manager at The Guthrie, and he emphasized the importance of his staff and colleagues being creatively vital and happy. He told me he’d be happy to have as much time as I could give. My loyalty was born in that conversation. Jim’s leadership enabled me to follow suit and seek out staff and Directors who add a myriad of creative perspectives.”
While working as an artist, new staff member Mirsky has concurrently developed an impressive history of experience working as a leader in environmental activism and sales, with organizations such as Greenpeace, Green Mountain Energy, and successful 3D printing startup, Makerbot. “I've had so much fun getting to spend all day speaking with countless other artists and writers across the country,” notes Mirsky. “It feels amazing to be part of a sales team that gets to represent such an amazing group of nationally acclaimed directors and artists. Jim Geib & Amyliz Pera know great work comes from collaboration, and have built a supporting company culture focused on delivering the highest quality services to our clients.”
Like all team members, Daniel will be representing Twist nationwide. He will be utilizing the system developed by Pera to connect the sales team and ensure that everyone is able to work together without the barriers of territory. “We’re in a global industry, and client service by territory seems antiquated,” concludes Pera. “It might not have been the case fifteen years ago when I started working this way, but it most certainly is now. It’s not uncommon for people to move cross-country or to work with people in scattered locations. No one has to figure out who to call – any one of us can pick up the phone.”
