Director at Dadbod, Sam Davis, has shared his recent project for Sad Night Dynamite. Sam’s music video plays upon the strange world of CCTV and surveillance, and how it can cast a guilty shadow on those it observes. As the narrative develops, the CCTV starts to seek out more and more obscurity in dark pockets of the city.
Initially avoiding the gaze of the all seeing eye, Sad Night Dynamite gradually start to embrace the seemingly unavoidable blanket of CCTV as the madness develops. Sam played around with pre-programmed camera moves, super long zooms, face tracking and thermal imaging to create this voyeuristic world.
"A logistically interesting project, having to cart around a 12ft CCTV pole and camera around South London got plenty of strange looks." said Sam.
Sam continued: "I got the idea after a chat in the pub with my mate who runs a CCTV company. For a while I'd been wanting to make a video around the eeriness and weirdness of CCTV, and Sad Night Dynamite were up for making something a bit different, so seemed like the perfect opportunity".
