Cut+Run New York is proud to announce that Stacy Peterson has been promoted to Editor and Julia Williams has been promoted to Head of Production. Peterson joins a New York-based editor roster that features Jon Grover, Akiko Iwakawa, Joel Miller, Gary Knight, Georgia Dodson, Dan Maloney and TG Herrington.
Shortly after graduating with a film degree from Northwestern University, Peterson moved to NY in search of an editing career. A chance but fortuitous introduction to Rana Martin and Akiko Iwakawa, then at Final Cut, led to her first assistant position. Peterson moved to Cut+Run with Iwakawa, and has since collaborated with a variety of the companys editing talent. Peterson has edited projects for Gillette, BMW, Tide, Clorox, Newcastle and Nickelodeon, confirming that the time was right to assume the full-time editor role. View a selection of her work here.
"Stacy is a natural born editor and has garnered considerable respect and trust from her fan base," comments Martin, "She puts her heart and soul into her editing and exhibits an unwavering commitment to each project. I feel extremely proud to see Stacy evolve to Editor and cannot wait to see the amazing things her future has in store."
"Everyone here is supportive; we're all invested in each other," says Peterson, "I am thrilled to become an Editor, especially in this environment."
Julia Williams has been a producer with Cut+Run for nearly two years and is widely known and appreciated for focusing her passion for the industry on solutions that make projects and people thrive. Williams began her career at Beast, where she grew into the producer role and helped the New York office launch its finishing department before joining Cut+Run. She has been similarly instrumental in developing the Cut+Runs finishing services, and will continue to oversee its expansion into design, motion graphics and visual effects. As Head of Production, Williams will work in tandem with EP Rana Martin, overseeing the producer team and the offices daily operations, both creative editorial and finish.
"Julia is a sharp producer and an unyielding source of positivity. She has made a significant contribution to growing and integrating our Offline and Finishing offerings in New York and it shows," says EP Rana Martin. "This promotion is a natural next step for Julia and a tremendous asset for Cut+Run. We couldn't be more excited."
"I love the fast pace of our industry and the continuous flow of fresh creative and logistical challenges involved in bringing projects to life," Julia explains, "I really respect and enjoy working with everyone at Cut+Run, and look forward to this new role at the company."
