The cult web series, Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, returns to screens this September on Channel 4.
Created by directors Becky & Joe, alongside long term collaborator Baker Terry, this puppet musical extravaganza from Blink Industries is part educational programming, part existential nightmare. A mixed media trip that moves from kids show pastiche to fever dream horror in the blink of an eye. Building on the cult YouTube show, which has been viewed over a quarter of a billion times, the Channel 4 series, supported by the BFI Young Audiences Content Fund, will be available exclusively on All 4 in September. The show follows Red Guy, Yellow Guy and Duck as they continue their disastrous learning journey.
The show first hit YouTube in 2011, revolutionising early internet humour and becoming a viral sensation. After watching the first episode, Blink signed them and developed the remaining five episodes with its long form division Blink Industries. The show has garnered a longstanding and insatiably loyal fanbase worldwide.
