Crispin Porter Bogusky has launched a new spot for Applebee’s. The spot introduces the new "Spirited Cuisine" dishes, which are made with a touch of whisky, wine, and beer. Entitled "Showboatin Chef," the spot is the latest chapter in our ongoing "See you tomorrow" story, and highlights the culinary skill necessary to make the new Napa Chicken & Portobellos, Double Barrel Whisky Sirloins, and Brewpub Pretzels & Beer Cheese Dip.
And what better way to convey that skill than by enlisting the services of 19-time world “flair bartending” champion Christian Delpech? The spot shows “Chef Christian” preparing the new dishes with jaw-dropping skill and style. He expertly flips bottles, utensils, and ingredients, all while the voiceover calls him out on his impressive yet over-the-top antics. The :30 launched on TV yesterday, while the :60 below launched online.
