Creative agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky (CP+B) London has invented a fun way to remind young people to check their boobs for potentially important changes every month. Linking up with the breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel!, BoobSoap acts as a physical reminder to #TrustYourTouch when using the soap in the shower or bath - studies have shown that women too often ‘just forget’ to check their breasts .
Every box of the all-natural and beautifully scented BoobSoap comes with a checking card showcasing signs and symptoms to be aware of, and aims to make the process of checking your boobs regularly a little simpler. CP+B are hoping the campaign catches the attention of major retailers interested in stocking BoobSoap so that the agency can go into full production and thus begin routing all profits to CoppaFeel! to support their vital work. In the meantime, CoppaFeel! will leverage the BoobSoap concept as part of their annual #ShowerHijack campaign, where the charity ‘hijack’ communal bathrooms at universities, gym chains and yoga studios across the country with a range of awareness raising materials.
Martins Miller, creative at CP+B, commented, “We knew early detection is key in the battle against breast cancer and figured something like BoobSoap could have a genuinely important role to play, whilst also adding a dash of fun and gorgeousness into the equation. Use the soap every time you bathe or shower and in just about a month, it will run out, and you’ll be reminded to check again – if you haven’t already.”
An initial short run of BoobSoaps has been produced at-cost by London-based artisan soap-maker Soapsmith. Conceived of as a pro-bono initiative by Crispin Porter + Bogusky, the agency is calling on major retailers to stock the innovative soap. CP+B aims to donate all profits from eventual BoobSoap sales to CoppaFeel!, to help support the charity’s important work.
Zoe Roll, Marketing Manager of CoppaFeel!, commented “It’s fantastic that CP+B are committed to raising awareness for such an important cause. CoppaFeel! is here to educate young people on the signs and symptoms of breast cancer and encourage boob/pec checking on a regular basis, so that more people feel empowered to speak to their GP if anything changes. We always appreciate innovative ways to spread our message - and BoobSoap definitely falls into that category.”
