Freshly baked in England with Brazilian flavour and international ingredients, Cookie Studio has landed in São Paulo to expand the presence of animation in advertising and spice things up.
After success in the English market and working with tasty brands like Pringles, Amazon, BBC, Samsung and Fiat, Cookie Studio has expanded its operations to other countries across the world. Internationally, it is very common for big brands to use animation in their advertising campaigns, allowing Cookie Studio to thrive overseas and create delicious work.
According to Thiago Maia, the experience acquired working with major international brands brings security to bet on the Brazilian market. “We want to show the potential of using animation. We bring successful international experience which, we believe, can be replicated here. We want to work on tasty projects that emerge from enriching creative and inspiring designs.”
Cookie Studio's goal is to seek lasting creative partnerships and mutually beneficial collaborations with Brazilian agencies. “We want to expand the use of a language that is not as exploited in advertising production as live action. Animation does not have to be infantilised, it can be dramatic, humorous, emotional or epic. It’s a great way to tell stories and opens up a huge range of possibilities. With animation there is no impossibility,” says executive producer, Fabio Dedding.
Among the works done so far by the studio, Cookie partners Thiago and Fabio highlight their work for Pringles and Amazon to show the different ways in which animation can be used. Pringles proves that animation, design, humour and a dash of sarcasm can work without being childish. Amazon shows that animation can be used as an excellent resource to talk about themes that in some societies are considered taboo or may suffer judgments from the population.
The goal for the first year is to focus on collaborations with Brazilian agencies using integrated operations between teams in England and Brazil. The intention is to hold workshops in agencies, have meetings with creatives and TV producers and create some tasty work.
