Signing is on back of ‘This Glourious Monster’ success

Established commercials director Stephen Pipe who recently made his first foray into longer form comedy with ‘This Glorious Monster’ sketches has joined production company tantrum for commercials representation in the UK and US.

Pipe began life as an Art Director working for several leading advertising agencies before going on to be nominated for ‘Best New Director’ at the BTAA in his first year of directing. His quirky performance based comedy often featuring celebrities has earned him a Gold Shark, numerous D&AD nominations and a coveted pencil for his Charmin spot, as well as several arrows for best casting. Other commercial clients have included O2, Umbro, COI and the BBC.

With tantrum he joins a production company that already have a pedigree for strong performance and comedy based work with directors such as Matt Lipsey, Jon Dennis and Richard Tindall on their roster.

‘This Glorious Monster’ is a series of short comedy sketches that has already won plaudits in comedy circles since its online release in October 2012. Never Mind the Buzzcocks, BBC Comedy and Chortle are amongst those who have shouted approval through social media channels with The British Comedy Guide listing it as the 'One to Watch'.

‘This Glorious Monster’ is in the process of being optioned by one of the major television companies to be developed into a full length series.

Regarding the signing tantrum head of commercials, Stuart Wrigglesworth said: “Stephen is great. We love him already. We are taking this all very seriously and will definitely stop laughing when our heads fall off.”
