MADC’s event series for the detail obsessed creative - the Art of Craft - returns with world-renowned photographer, director and cinematographer Christopher Tovo opening the doors to his studio for a session on ‘Speaking With The Shutter.’
Christopher is an award-winning photographer, director, and cinematographer based in Melbourne. With over 30 years of experience, he has built a diverse portfolio encompassing advertising, fashion, and documentary projects. Fresh off his high profile campaign with Uber Eats and Cher, Christopher's work is characterised by a deep engagement with his subjects, which showcases his ability to blend cultural narratives with visual artistry.
Christopher said, "As some of the tried and true approaches to creative practice start getting a bit of a nudge from new technologies, finding and finessing your own personal, creative voice has never been more important. Carving out a distinct and powerful creative perspective over time takes intention and focus - no matter your line of creative work."
Drinks and snacks will follow, along with an informal Q&A. Guests will also take part in a live shoot session to watch Chris’s process in action and hear some of his masterful tips and tricks.
Dan Sparkes, director of education at MADC said, "The hype is real for our Art of Craft events. We know Melbourne has been loving the exclusive tight-knit, hands-on environments and chance to get up close and personal with these craft masters. Trust us when we say an hour with Christopher is worth its weight in gold."
