The documentary film Chasing the World's Largest Number, presented as a mathematical-poetic road trip, has been selected as an Official Honouree for the 19th Annual Webby Awards.
The film is directed by Bacon’s director Christian Holm-Glad and is one of two films in his Arts Meets Science project. The second film, Sushi & Nuclear, was shown last weekend at the prestigious American Documentary Film Festival.
Christian Holm-Glad has previously also directed several successful music videos, including Madcon’s Beggin’ and Calvin Harris’ UK No. 1 hit Not alone.
“I am incredibly happy that our film was selected for the Webby Awards, which the New York Times has called ‘The Internet´s Highest Honor’! Past winners include Banksy, Taylor Schilling and Kevin Spacey – so we’re in good company!“ says Holm-Glad enthusiastically.
“The basic idea behind my Arts Meets Science projects has always been to communicate knowledge wrapped such a poetic and visually interesting package that the viewer gets just absorbed in the aesthetic values of the film but then ends up learning something by proxy. The prizes we’re winning and the festivals our films have been chosen for are a great confirmation that we have succeeded,” says Christian Holm-Glad.
