Today, BBDO Worldwide announced that Chris Beresford-Hill will be re-joining the network as chief creative officer for The Americas. Beresford-Hill spent nearly eight years executive creative director at BBDO New York from 2010-2017 representing what he calls, “the longest and most prolific stint in his career.” During that time, he created award-winning work for Foot Locker, Guinness, Twix, HBO, FedEx, and AT&T, among others.

Chris is leaving his position as North America president and CCO at Ogilvy after two successful years where he was responsible for the business and creative vision of the region and Ogilvy’s five verticals: Advertising, PR, Experience, Consulting and Health. Prioritizing growth, he helped to bring in major AOR wins like Verizon, Audi of America, and H&R Block. 

In his time at Ogilvy, Chris helped to lead the agency’s creative resurgence in North America which resulted in Ogilvy being named Ad Age Comeback Agency of the Year, Adweek Network of the Year, North America Network of the Year at the 2023 London International Awards, and helped the global network earn the #1 ranking on WARC’s 2023 Creative 100 and Effective 100 lists, which tracks the collective results of the major creative and effectiveness award shows around the world including Cannes, Clios, One Show, LIAs, Effies, and beyond.

Prior to Ogilvy, Chris spent four years as chief creative officer of TBWA\Chiat\Day transforming the agency alongside Nancy Reyes, former CEO of TBWA\Chiat\Day New York. While there, the two achieved major growth and won the most creative awards in the agency’s history. They returned TBWA to the Ad Age Agency A-List after a decade of not making the list, and the pair was pivotal in new business wins including PepsiCo (MTN Dew, MTN Dew RISE, Bubly, and Lay’s brands). 

Nancy was named CEO of The Americas for BBDO in October of this year, and as long time partners both at Goodby and TBWA\Chiat\Day, Nancy and Chris look forward to working alongside each other to once again embark on a journey that will set BBDO up for success and make lasting impact. 

“Chris coming home is particularly rewarding and personal for me,” said David Lubars, chief creative director of BBDO Worldwide and Chris’ long time mentor.  “Because from the outset, I had him pegged as an important part of BBDO’s future. I was bummed when he left to work with Nancy – although, now having worked with her myself over the last few months, I understand why he did. Both reuniting under our banner sets the stage for BBDO’s bright future.”

Chris Beresford-Hill previously held creative director and Writer positions at Saatchi NY, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners SF, and Modernista! in Boston, where he started his career in 2002.

Having been in the industry for 20+ years, Chris has created a multitude of award-winning campaigns including the global debate for Twix 'Pick a Side,' the disruptive 'Billie Jean King Your Shoes' experience for adidas, and the overnight sensation Guinness’ 'Wheelchair Basketball.' He is also behind multiple Super Bowl campaigns, including 'Rockstars' for Workday, and the most watched Super Bowl ad ever, MTN Dew’s 'Major Millions.' He has been included in Adweek Best Creatives, the Adweek 100, Business Insider’s Most Creative People in Advertising, and the AdAge 40 Under 40.
