Catching Up with High-Speed

Having had first-hand experience on the client-side of the creative and production process, I know how it can feel to be on the sidelines of a campaign, unable to contribute effectively. But I also know how - with the right knowledge and guidance - everyone can take the step from outsider to active team player throughout the process.

The right insight into practices, equipment and approach benefits quantifiable elements such as time management and equipment use, but it also benefits less tangible (but just as important) factors, such as the crew’s morale on set.

The Sandstorm Insight films are testament to this transparent and collaborative ethos. Each short film features members of the Sandstorm team breaking down jargon, revealing industry misconceptions or even just explaining how to best use a piece of equipment. Our Insight films have been created so that all parties; be it creative, production or client, understand one another’s roles, and expectations, so we can effectively communicate and ensure the highest levels of quality and productivity.

Our latest film looks at ‘High-Speed’. A filming technique used to capture super slow-motion footage that is otherwise invisible to the naked eye. Managing Director; Tom Ward, and Director of Photography; Matt Wicker, take you behind the scenes on the set of ‘Tackle The 12 Stains Of Christmas’ to put this impressive and often miss-understood process into context.
