BLUT Audio's CEO and composer Timo Blunck shares his favourite album of 2021

Who doesn't like music recommendations from random strangers? Well this might be your new favourite spot! Each week a member of BLUT's super cool team will present their favourite album. And be a stranger no more, because you know what they say: You are what you listen to!

While we're still in the relatively early stages of the new year, we might as well start with our favourite albums from 2021!

"Black Country, New Road are a young seven-piece band from London, stylistically somewhere between Avantgarde, Punk and Klezmer (not kidding!). When they're at their most melodic, they remind me of Devendra Banhart, Camper van Beethoven or The Sea and Cake, but mostly they defy comparison, which to me is a quality almost impossible to achieve these days. As a producer I love their earthy guitar sounds, extreme stereo mix and great drumming, as a singer I'm totally into the slightly broken voice of Isaac Wood (he's got a touch of Conor Oberst, in fact, I thought this was an American band at first). Hardly any reverb to be found on this record, another thing I dig. This is a six-track album, but it goes with a couple more singles (e.g. 'Snowglobes'), all released around the same time last year. My favourite tracks are 'Concord' and 'Chaos Space Marine'. Not for everyone, but definitely for those with a slightly more adventurous taste." - Timo Blunck (CEO & composer at BLUT)
