Director Ryan Patrick takes comedy to the high seas with a new campaign for cruise giant, Carnival. The new campaign from Anomaly and Whitelist will have you packing your budgie smugglers and heading for the pool deck in no time.

Targeting people who don’t normally cruise, the comical spots were designed so that they could live on their own as single scenes or together as a montage of moments.  Each ‘moment’ captures unique reactions to different activities found on Carnival Cruises. The campaign encourages you to ‘choose fun’, whether that’s culinary acrobatics, lip sync battles or observational stand-up, they’ve got it covered.

Ryan comments: "These are memorable moments that you could see your father, mother or aunt having to something they're experiencing for the first time. So not only do you learn about a bunch of things you can do on a Carnival Cruise – but you're also laughing along the way."

He adds: "We sailed from Manhattan to Miami for four days with the crew and had the whole liner to ourselves, which was awesome. It’s not every day you get a ship that size to yourself to shoot!"

In addition to his commercial work, Ryan Patrick is also a prolific music video director shooting promos for the likes of Cut Copy, Miike Snow, B.o.B, 2 Chainz, Joel Compass, Wiz Khalifa and The Weeknd. His highly stylised visuals gives Ryan’s work a very cinematic quality. Ryan has been featured in the Young Directors award twice and had his work screened at SXSW.
