Can a Kodiak Bear Best an Otterbox Cooler? CP+B Boulder Finds Out

Otterbox is known for their indestructible smartphone and tablet cases. Now, they’re taking their commitment to creating the most durable products on the planet outside of the tech world and into the outdoor space with new rugged Venture coolers.  Sure, tough coolers are not a new thing. But the industry treats them like hardcore, holy necessities designed only for serious outdoorsmen on a mission to stop vicious bears searching for dinner. It is why every heavy-duty cooler is put to the test by having a manic Kodiak beat the things to hell without any luck of entry. It’s more scary than enjoyable.

Otterbox, however, wanted to illustrate their cooler’s toughness beyond the abuse of claws and teeth in an amusing way. You know, inject some fun into the stone-faced outdoor world. The 'Ultra Bear Proof' test from CP+B Boulder demonstrates what happens to the Otterbox cooler when a real bear has the power to fire different destructive forces at it with hopes getting to the tasty goods inside. After triggering a falling piano, wrecking ball, angry wrestler and more, the bear still can’t get in, proving that it’s bear-proof, no matter what the bear does. It’s unfortunate for the bear. But fortunate for anyone looking for a very, very, very tough cooler.
