Peter Souter, who was last week appointed Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of TBWA UK Group, has moved quickly to make his first creative appointments.
He is reuniting the celebrated multi-award winning creative duo of Walter Campbell and Sean Doyle. The pair worked with Souter at AMV in the 90s and later formed their own agency Campbell Doyle Dye (CDD) in 2002.
They will join TBWA\London as a heavyweight creative team in October, working in the creative department which will continue to be run by ECD Dede Laurentino, with a brief to inspire TBWA\London's youthful creative teams and produce famous work for its clients including Aquafresh, Nissan, GSK, Adidas and EA Games.
Dede Laurentino, ECD at TBWA\London said of the appointment: "I've always dreamt of working with one of them. Now they're all here. I'm so happy that I envy myself. “
Walter Campbell moves from his previous role as creative partner at Anomoly. In his illustrious career he has produced awarding winning work for Mercedes, Volvo, Sony and Guinness – most notably creating Guinness Surfer with Doyle at AMV BBDO, voted by ITV viewers as one of the best ads ever made. He has won many creative awards, including 23 coveted D&AD pencils.
Campbell said: “Peter rang up very excited and got me excited. There is a lot of intent and passion at work at TBWA and I want to lend my conviction to that.”
Joining him is his previous creative partner Sean Doyle who has created award-winning work for clients including The Economist, Adidas, Mercedes, The Macallan and English Heritage.
Previous to forming Campbell Doyle Dye, Doyle has spent time with agencies including DDB, Leagas Delaney, The Assembly and Simons Palmer Denton. More recently, he had his own firefighting creative agency, Panic.
Doyle said: "I'm thrilled to be joining an agency with such a great heritage, and to have a chance to play a part in its future. I'm raring to go."
Peter Souter, Chairman and CCO of TBWA\UK said: "Walter is simply the most awarded creative working in London. That I can put him in a room with Sean again simply means everybody should be very afraid of the creative power of TBWA\London.
When you have 26 pencils between you, you don't really need titles. So we've decided to call them Art director and Copywriter. The way you'd call Ali and Best a boxer and a footballer. The pair will work across all our clients, win business and prizes, hearts and minds. Dede and I are thrilled."
