Camp + King has hired David Morrissey as Strategy Director and Head of Communications
Planning - a new position - co-founder and CEO Jamie King announced today.
For
nearly 15 years, Morrissey has helped brands communicate more effectively
across traditional, digital, social, direct-response, thought-leadership and
sales-enablement channels.
"David
is a great problem solver. He has unique perspectives and skills that
range from copy to strategy to comms planning," said Jamie King. "He
adds significant strategic muscle to Camp + King."
In
strategic planning roles, Morrissey worked for several major ad agencies
including McCann Worldgroup, Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett USA and Epsilon
New York. Most recently, he was VP, Global Group Strategy Director for
MRM//McCann.
Before
becoming a strategic brand planner, he spent several years on the other side of
the brief as a copywriter at McCann. This role gave him a unique perspective
into the creative development process while helping him identify which customer
insights would prove most fertile for the creative team.
Morrissey
has experience in a number of different vertical industries such as consumer
technology, consumer services, travel, telecom, healthcare, IT, manufacturing,
finance, education and the public sector. He has worked with brands including
Cisco, Intel, CDW, Verizon, Microsoft, VeriSign, Plantronics, BP Fuels, JP
Morgan Chase, Discover Card, Grainger and Northrop Grumman.
When
he isn’t working, Morrissey devotes his time to music and independent media. He
has deejayed for community radio stations in Chicago, Salt Lake City and
Boston.
