Build in Amsterdam Picks Up Three Webbys

Build in Amsterdam has seen its work awarded with three Webbys today. Hailed as 'The Internet’s Highest Honour' by The New York Times and colloquially referred to as the Oscars of the Internet, the Webby Awards – presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) – is one of the longest-running award programs that honour digital culture.

This year, Build in Amsterdam received three Webby Awards, as well as seven nominations and two honorees across nine projects.

Moooi Paper Play – Winner / Websites and Mobile Sites, Best Visual Design - Aesthetic

Paper Play is the third chapter of Moooi’s immersive digital brand experiences – all in collaboration with Build in Amsterdam. The latest iteration combines a theatrical approach to storytelling with graphical elements by visual artist Merijn Hos and motion designer Jurrian Hos.

Flying Papers – Winner / Websites and Mobile Sites, Best Use of Animations & Motion Graphics

Build in Amsterdam was assigned to revamp the Flying Papers brand from the ground up. By using creative storytelling and rich animations, the website skillfully navigates the challenges of communicating smoking and cannabis-related products without mentioning smoking.

FOAM Talent – Winner / Websites and Mobile Sites, Best Mobile User Interface

FOAM and Build in Amsterdam created a digital exhibition featuring the work of 20 photographers selected through the annual Foam Talent Call. Seamlessly integrating audio, video, and interactive elements, the online realm transcends museum walls, redefining photography's boundaries.

Winners were selected from 14,000 entries across 70 countries worldwide. “Build in Amsterdam has set the standard for innovation and creativity on the Internet,” said Claire Graves, Executive Director of The Webby Awards. “This award is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of its creators.”
