Consulat has announced it's starting a new collaboration with Jonathan Brisebois, better known as Brokenwood. A well-established director of photography in Montreal, Brokenwood is now joining their roster as director for representation in Canada and the United States.
With a reputation as a dedicated creative partner and a big believer in investing time and energy into the community, Brokenwood has worked with almost every major player in the Montreal scene. From festivals to music videos and high-profile advertising clients, such as Aldo, Evenko, SidLee, Cossette his collaborations are as diverse as they are impactful. Collaborating closely with him over the years and witnessing his work alongside our talents makes his seamless transition to directing a natural progression for us.
His body of work over the last decade reflects the very qualities we seek in new talent: resilience in the face of challenges, a profound understanding of teamwork, the ability to navigate the intense, fast-paced environment of advertising, and, most importantly, the ability to take it all in and have his own voice.
But what truly captivated us was the magic of his first short film, Tomber des nues, co-directed with Natalia Duguay. The narrative depth, coupled with a sensitivity and rawness that grips you, showcases his exceptional flair for storytelling. Brokenwood's ability to create intimate moments that resonate deeply while considering his audience is extraordinary. His craft will undoubtedly cut through the noise, thanks to this unique storytelling ability.
When the conversation to bring him on board started, it was an enthusiastic decision. We see in Brokenwood a talent whose growth we are eager to invest in, and we are thrilled to embark on this journey together.
