In a year where big networks are shrinking and we are facing an economic downturn, experiential agency Motion: For Impact (Motion) has beaten the trend and witnessed an impressive growth doubling its headcount from 10 to 25
One of the exceptions in Singapore’s competitive markets is experiential agency Motion, which celebrated its 20th Anniversary on 29 June. 

It has a lot to celebrate too. The last year saw the agency gain the businesses of DSO, Zuellig Pharma and Hilti in addition to continuing a relationship with long term retainer clients like Hilton, Prudential, and UOB. It also made senior appointments including that of Iain Mc Mullan who joined the agency as head of strategy and communications. He was formerly the group head of operations for Bonsey Jaden and a global communications lead with Emirates in Dubai.

Not only that, but the agency has also moved into a new office space which it calls House of Motion at Ann Siang Road, a thoughtfully designed office emanating to inspire comfort, connection and hospitality. 

Juliana Mattar, the founder and CEO of Motion, attributes the success of Motion to a clear focus on creating an offering around sensorial experiences and meticulous planning, hospitality and execution of the projects entrusted to them.

“We have had a grounding 20 years run as an agency, and I am humbled to be celebrating the anniversary this year. We initially started as an events and video production company but have evolved to develop a sensorial methodology that ignites the human senses. From brand launches to activations, leadership conferences to cultural immersion, we integrate out 3 partnership pillars of content and communications, events and spaces, and people and culture to impact businesses and their people. I would attribute our success to our deep commitment to being highly collaborative and making each moment a meaningful and performing one for ourselves and our clients.

As part of its anniversary celebrations, the agency has launched an event series Mornings in Motion, which will see the agency organise educational events for clients each quarter. The first session was organised in April around the topic of Speak Eloquently, Experience Sensorially. 

“We moved to our new space, the ‘House of Motion’ on Ann Siang Road, a thriving district of heritage, trade and social activity, when WFH was the big trend. It was mainly due to our belief that an inspiring physical space was integral for an agency that believes in human connections and a collaborative culture. With this bright and inspiring new space complete, we are offering our main floor as a communal space for like-minded companies who wish to bring their communities together to build relationships, strengthen connections and make business impact. 

On our anniversary we will be offering our main floor as a rental space for companies who share a similar ethos and wish to hold their events or workshops here.” 

In recent years, notable campaigns from Motion include Khronos: A Skin Odyssey for Aesop and Prudential’s 175th Anniversary celebration.
