THE UNKNOWN was mandated by Bombardier Commercial Aircraft to create their first branded entertainment piece. The mandate wasn't easy: create something that could be seen and appreciated by everybody inside (and outside) the industry, while specifically talking and celebrating Siza Mzimela, South African airline CEO.
What could have been another beige interview of a CEO became a tool for women empowerment. While talking about the amazing journey of the first female CEO in aviation, first female to launch an airline and the the most powerful female in the world by Forbes in 2013. We All Have Wings positioned Bombardier and its values as a pioneer in the industry. And generated sales. Something a 30-second ad could never have done.
The film, told through the eyes of a young girl, sees Siza Mzimela narrate her story and how her personal story parallels that of her journey in aviation. Through empowering insights, significant key moments and the wisdom gained through her experience, we reveal how South African Express is making more of Africa accessible to Africans.
In THE UNKNOWN's film, the young girl isn’t solely a figurative representation of Ms Mzimela. She’s simultaneously presented as a metaphor for growth and the potential of all young Africans. And women all over the world.
