Bloom, the professional network for women in communications, has revealed the panel of industry experts for its next event, Achieving Your Potential: The Diversity Debate. The event, in aid of charity Eaves, will take place on the evening of Wednesday 8th April at the Brick Lane offices of global marketing and technology agency DigitasLBi.
Hosted by Emily Samways, Managing Partner at Iris and Vice President of Bloom, the event will feature a panel of industry experts discussing the importance of diversity to the survival of our industry, and offering their views on how to achieve it.
The panel will include:
- Karen Fraser, Strategy Director at the Advertising Association
- Dave Buonaguidi, former Chief Creative Officer at Karmarama
- Charlene White, British journalist and ITN newsreader
- Jan Gooding, Group Brand Director, Aviva
The event follows the Government’s recent pledge of £4m of funding to boost diversity in the creative industries, and the latest IPA Census which shows that women and ethnic minorities are still underrepresented in marketing, particularly at senior management level.
Tickets for the event cost £16.55 (including a complimentary drink) and are available via Eventbrite, with all proceeds going to the charity Eaves. Eaves works with women who are vulnerable through experiences of violence, empowering them to get their lives back. The charity leads the way in exposing and addressing the overlapping issues of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and exploitation of women in the UK.
Bloom is a professional network for women in communications that exists to help them fulfil their potential through mentoring, networking events and fundraising. More information on Bloom and its programme of events can be found on the Bloom Facebook page and Twitter feed.

varied mix of experience, backgrounds and opinions is not just about CSR – it’s
been proven to make companies more profitable.”
