Rob Thorsen joins Brooklyn-based agency

Today, Brooklyn-based digital creative agency Big Spaceship announced it has brought on Rob Thorsen as its new EVP of client services, reporting directly to CEO Michael Lebowitz. In this role, Rob will oversee the development of Big Spaceship’s client relationships and the disciplines of the agency that drive them.

"As we continue to diversify our offering, Rob's 15 years of agency building experience will be invaluable to ensure that our clients and potential clients benefit from our unique, collaborative approach to digitally-led brand, product and experience development," Lebowitz said.

Most recently, Rob was leading a significant portfolio of business at the Publicis Network’s newly formed MRY, which were equally Digital and Social AOR relationships, all powered by analytics and driven by creativity. Prior to MRY, Rob served as EVP, Sr Director at BBDO where he oversaw some of the agency’s most prestigious accounts like Starbucks and The Economist. He also led significant new business efforts over the years including the American Red Cross, an account he also led on a day-to-day basis, as well as Blackberry.

Previously, Rob served as Global Business Director and Sr Strategist at Mother New York, where he worked with blue-chip brands such as LVMH, The Coca-Cola Company and SABMiller, among others, doing award-winning work for each. Rob spent what he refers to as his formative years with BBH NY, where he led the successful North American launch of Unilever’s AXE and where he was named one of Ad Age’s 30 under 30.

"Big Spaceship has a long history of creativity and innovation in the digital space. And as the space evolves, the opportunity to build deeper, stronger partnerships with our clients through the products and experiences we create with them evolves as well. Developing those partnerships will be a key aspect of my role here and one I'm very much looking forward to diving into."
