In the 90-second music video, developed by the BVG agency Jung von Matt/Saga and directed by tempomedia director Søren Schaller, train drivers, bus drivers, ticket inspectors and other employees of Berlin's public transport company get their big stage and are allowed to show how cool their job really is, including grillz and dab dancing. All soundtracked by the anthem of all those who do their own thing: 'My Way'.
"Our stars are the BVG employees who are the focus of communication. However, we must not lose sight of our humour and the learned the value of self-ironic brand tonality. That means they also try their hand at hip poses in work clothes and show how cool they are," says Marielle Heiß, creative director at Jung von Matt/Saga.
The film is also intended to pay homage to cooperation partner Adidas, with whom BVG launched a limited sneaker collection at the beginning of the year. The shoe, limited to 500 pieces, with an integrated subway ticket in the design of the BVG seat covers, triggered a real hype. BVG is building on this success and is now using the style, look, composition and plot of the Adidas campaign 'Original is never finished' in the film.
"Berlin is cool, hip and sexy, everyone knows that. But the fact that BVG is also the cool-ass in public transport is demonstrated by this latest spot," comments Martell Beck, head of marketing and sales at BVG on the new online film, which is also intended to draw attention to "the fact that it's worth working here". BVG has a total of 14,600 employees.
