Ben Gregor Directs Series Five of BBC and Netflix Comedy Cuckoo

Knucklehead's Ben Gregor has directed series five of award-winning comedy Cuckoo for BBC and Netflix.

Launching today, the series welcomes A-list actor Andie MacDowell to the cast as Ivy Mittlefart, Ken’s (Greg Davies) half-sister. 

Andie said: “Most people want me to do the same thing I’ve always done because they think that’s what people want and I end up not getting to do anything interesting. Ivy is unlike anything I’ve ever done and a true character. We worked at a crazy speed but Ben was upbeat and always fresh with ideas -encouraging, bold and enthusiastic.”

Andie replaces Taylor Lautner (Dale in Series 4) as the show’s Hollywood star in amongst life with the Thompson family in Lichfiled.

“It’s a real badge of quality for the show that the writing continues to attract the very cream of Hollywood talent to the Midlands” said BBC controller of comedy Shane Allen
