Today, BBDO LA announced the appointment of Ash Tavassoli and Rafa Gonzaga as executive creative directors. The promotion comes as BBDO LA continues to grow their presence as a lead creative agency on the West Coast.
The BBDO Los Angeles office began as a satellite for one of BBDO’s largest US clients, AT&T. Over the last year and a half, the team has been working to make a permanent home for BBDO in LA; focusing on growing our presence on the West Coast and recruiting from the exceptional pool of talent LA has to offer. In doing so, we have grown our client roster with the addition of Juanitas and Water Wipes in 2021, and have welcomed talent from the BBDO family with the addition of Matt Miller, chief creative officer for LA as well as AT&T, and Julien Lemoine, managing director for BBDO LA. These decisions have solidified the office as a key player on the West Coast.
Now, with a lot of momentum behind it, BBDO LA are thrilled to welcome new executive creative director team Ash Tavassoli and Rafa Gonzaga. The pair will be leading the creative department and specifically focused on new business opportunities. Ash and Rafa bring a wealth of creative power and experience to the LA office and look forward to recruiting more creative talent over the next six months.
Ash is rejoining BBDO after stints at Droga5, Adam&Eve and Publicis, where he was running accounts such as Facebook, INFINITI and Samsung. Rafa joins BBDO LA from Grey West, where he was leading creative for accounts such as YouTube TV and Amazon Photos.
The LA office was born to expand BBDO’s presence on the West Coast as another top creative shop, with the power of the BBDO network behind it.
