B-Reel brings young designers’ work to life using 360 content and animation

B-Reel has launched an interactive digital showroom for the LVMH Prize Foundation, bringing fashion's most prestigious award for young designers to life.

B-Reel’s studio in Barcelona began working with the LVMH Prize in 2021, enabling global audiences, LVMH brand fans and the fashion community to get closer to the prize than ever before.

This year’s digital showroom, launching 1 March, is the studio’s most immersive work to date. The team elevated the craft to create a platform that authentically mimics the act of walking through a physical space. The work reflects B-Reel’s vision to push the limits of luxury in the digital space, helping clients to create unique digital experiences to stand out in a digital ecosystem that is becoming more standardised than ever.

A rich and dynamic user experience is at the heart of B-Reels’ digital showroom, allowing audiences to interact with the designs and scroll seamlessly through the platform.

Individual pages for each designer maximise the fashion pieces, enabling users to rotate and look at in-depth design details through the fluid navigation.

Incredible depth of field was achieved using 360 rotational imagery sequences that allow audiences to view each designer’s pieces with a vividness that even 3D can’t sufficiently provide. And bespoke micro-animations, such as scroll-initiated text and colour hues add to the aesthetic. A dual approach for mobile and desktop was applied, with a custom experience that natively fits both formats.

B-Reel briefed each designer to create original portraits and films to present a rich visual insight into the designer’s brand and creative process.

After browsing designers, audiences can vote for their favourite, using the voting function, integrated within the platform for the first time this year: 16% of the final votes will be cast by fans at home. Launched on 1 March when voting opens, the digital showroom will remain open when the shortlists and finalists are announced later in the month.

Now in its 10th year, the LVMH Prize is fashion's most prestigious award for young designers, seeing many notable names, selected for their talent and outstanding creativity, become fashion stars like S.S.Daley and Grace Wales Bonner.

Delivered by the LVMH Prize Foundation, LVMH Group’s non-for-profit arm, it embodies the commitment of the Group, and its Houses, to nurture young talent, enabling the emergence of a new generation of designers.

B-Reel focuses on the future of digital products and experiences. We provide the most value to brands who have a crucial need to stand out from their competitors in the digital space. Brands that appreciate the importance of creating unique, memorable brand experiences that will help them connect with clientele on a deeper, more emotional level. While this applies to a wide range of companies regardless of size or industry, our two biggest focus areas today are: Big tech and luxury fashion.

B-Reel senior art director, Christian Lowell, commented: “We always strive to bring people closer to the LVMH Prize, using digital solutions to break the boundary between physical and digital worlds, and winning awards along the way. We’re delighted to launch this year’s digital showroom that really highlights the power of technology to engage audiences in exciting new ways and elevates what’s possible in web.”

Miriam Martin Price, B-Reel art director, added: “Every year, we want to bring a new and surprising element to the Prize and this is definitely our most immersive experience yet. We had to do justice to the craft involved in the designer’s pieces and highlight the stories and details that will help to build the future of fashion.”
