Scott Dettrick said, "AWARD School is a place where great minds think differently and where new ideas and extraordinary careers are born"
AWARD School, APAC’s premier course for aspiring creatives, has officially kicked off its 2025 program, introducing new course leaders in Western Australia and Queensland, 10 cutting-edge creative briefs, and an increased focus on mentorship.

Now in its 41st year, the intensive 12-week course has launched the careers of renowned global talent, including David Droga, Kim Pick, and Leo Premutico, and continues to uphold its legacy of producing top-tier creatives.

Scott Dettrick, executive creative director at M&C Saatchi & National AWARD School Head, said, “This is your chance to peek behind the curtain of creativity. AWARD School is a place where great minds think differently and where new ideas and extraordinary careers are born.”

  • New leadership: Tim Newton, creative lead at VML Perth, will guide the WA program, while Ryan Petie, executive creative director at Publicis Worldwide, will take the reins in Queensland. Their extensive experience in commercial creativity will be invaluable in shaping the next wave of emerging talent.

  • Curriculum: Students will tackle 10 diverse briefs covering formats like film, social media, digital, outdoor and print, and reflecting trends in AI, sustainability and tech. Weekly lectures from top industry leaders, both local and global, paired with hands-on tutorials at leading agencies, will immerse students in the standards and expectations of creative excellence.  The AWARD School online program will once again allow students from across the region to take part.

  • Support: This year’s program will also see increased accessibility to mentorship. Course leaders, tutors, and AWARD School Heads will be more available through the AWARD School Community Hub and at post-lecture events to answer questions, offer feedback, and help students refine their work outside weekly tutorials.

Joint National AWARD School head Sharon Edmondston said, "If you're eager to dive into the world of advertising or sharpen your creative skills, there is no better place to be than AWARD School.

“With unparalleled industry involvement, it’s a truly unique experience for students that's not just about learning; it's about connecting with a vibrant community that nurtures creativity and the application of it in the real world. No qualifications are needed, just your ideas and determination.”

Prospective students can learn more at AWARD School’s online Info Night on February 4.
