WHEXT 2022 finalists are finally announced by APRO and FilmBrazil. Focused on promoting Brazilian audiovisual advertising and discussing the future, the festival will take place December 1st at the Centro Britânico Brasileiro.
In partnership with ApexBrasil – The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, the event is sponsored by Getty Images & iStock, OnCare Saúde, Sebrae and Spcine – a public company that promotes cinema and audiovisual, which is part of the São Paulo City Hall. This year's awards will also be supported by Affinté Seguros, AT FIve Gin, Consulado, Extreme Reach, GoAd, Pródigo, Satelite Audio, Seguradora EZZE and SINDCINE. The fifth edition of the festival aims to discuss trends in advertising production, good practices in the market, and topics of great importance, considering the international scenario, such as: ESG, mental health awareness, liquid narratives, NFT's, Connected TV and others.
Curated by GoAd, among the highlights of the WHEXT 2022 program are participants such as Eric Stern – Managing Director at ANONYMOUS CONTENT - LA; Federico Roales – Creative Insights Researcher at GETTY IMAGES & iStock; and Carmela Borst – CEO at SOULCODE ACADEMY.
In addition to the panels, the event once again holds Business Roundtables with international guests, thus enabling the expansion of international networking of the producers associated with APRO and FilmBrazil. Finally, professionals from the sector will be awarded, especially to praise those who work backstage, consequently, giving more visibility to those who make a big difference in the production process, but are rarely celebrated by the market.
"WHEXT was created with the objective of raising important discussions about the current market scenario but mainly looks ahead towards the future by raising paths of what that would look like for advertising production. We always want to update and qualify our professionals to be ready for whatever is yet to come. The award ceremony, on the other hand, was born as a way to give visibility to those who are working daily on a film set, either in pre or post production. It is extremely rewarding to be able to bring another edition of this event", explains Marianna Souza, president of APRO, executive manager of FIlmBrazil and head of WHEXT.
During this edition, part of the WHEXT's schedule is focused on an ESG agenda. In that regard, the campaign was created jointly by Mariana Borga, director and screenwriter represented by Pródigo Filmes and art director Mauro Villas Boas and raises the need for more responsible management. The animated film was produced by Consulado and features audio production by Satelite Audio.
During September, the associated producers of APRO and FilmBrazil nominated the professionals who stood out the most in each of the 13 technical categories.
The jury composed of national and international professionals will be responsible for deciding the winners of this year's edition. Among them are: Eric Stern (managing director at ANONYMOUS CONTENT – LA), Caroline Kousidonis (executive producer at PARK PICTURES – LA), Camila Naito (general director of production at WMCCANN), Mathew Loranger (executive producer at The Mill NY), Murilo Melo (executive creative director at GUT), Nicole Godoy (head of production at VMLY&R), Renato Zandoná (chief creative officer at DROGA5), Travis Quinn (head of production at Mother NY), Talita Cardoso (DC at DPZ) and Felipe Silva (partner and creative director at GANA), president of the Jury and responsible along with the rest of the group for defining the WHEXT 2022 winners.
