Apple TV+ Stages an Alien Twitch Invasion for Original Series Launch

To launch the premiere of Invasion, Apple TV+’s latest original series, Apple took to Twitch for a two day synchronised alien takeover. Apple chose a range of Twitch stars including gamers, chess players, chefs and magicians. 

Viewers were shocked to find the Twitch streamers experiencing unprompted nosebleeds, before being plunged into eerie glitches and transmissions. Viewers were left gasping, asking what was happening as feeds continued to show empty chairs and bizarre transmissions including Alien ‘cymatics’ pulled directly from the Apple TV+ show. 

Twitch streamers took to Twitter after the stunt to continue the conversation and feed speculation into what was happening during the four-hour stunt. 

Through a social media takeover, it was revealed on Twitch that Apple TV+ was responsible for the stunt, celebrating the launch of the new show ‘Invasion’. The show focuses on the human experience of enduring an alien invasion. The Twitch experience intended to bring the supernatural feeling to life in the lead up to the show's debut.  

Invasion will premiere on Apple TV+ on October 22nd.
