Apple Music has announced a new partnership with Dolby Atmos starting at the end of June, introducing a new immersive experience for it’s subscribers.
With the release of ios 14.6 at the end of June, their new Spatial Audio will work on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.
So what is Spatial Audio and it’s relationship to Dolby Atmos?
Dolby Atmos is a high quality, industry standard audio. Used predominantly for film, producers aim to create a 3D sonic atmosphere necessary to represent the visual space which contributes to the motion picture.
Traditionally, headphones or speakers project audio from a limited spacial range, separated by two channels (also known as stereo).
Using Dolby Atmos, the immersive qualities of Spatial Audio are being applied to music inviting listeners into a whole new musical space, giving producers a new canvas in which to sculpt their sound.
Our flagship studio features a full Dolby Atmos playback system, allowing us to craft fully immersive mixes for a range of projects. We look forward to introducing a new Dolby Atmos package for all clients wanting their music mixed and mastered ready for this new exciting update. If you would like to explore the possibilities of immersive mixing for your music then please get in touch with us as we would love to hear from you!
