The campaign, from JWT Folk, shines a light on the homeless and those in temporary accommodation
This Christmas, JWT Folk has created a campaign for An Post dedicated to the real stories of Irish families. These stories explore connecting with loved ones and 'Sending Love with An Post', whether it is to the other side of the country, the world or directly to those who they care for the most.

The TV commercial tells the real story of a family living in temporary accommodation in Ireland. While actors are used to bring this to life, the voice that accompanies the footage is that of a real Mum telling the story of her, her children and how she is doing all she can to bring some Christmas magic this year despite their circumstances.

‘Send Love This Christmas’ represents the next phase of a journey that JWT Folk is on with An Post to support those living without a home in this country. The campaign aims to raise awareness, but also provide a solution for the Irish public to play their part. This Christmas, for every €19 stamp booklet sold, An Post will make a donation to homeless charities, to help support people and families homeless and living in temporary accommodation. Based on anticipated sales, An Post expects the donation to these charities to be an estimated value of €150,000

Karl Waters, creative partner at JWT Folk said: “Throughout our work with An Post on creating Address Point, The Shared Network and now Send Love, we understand how important it is to give a voice to the community that we are working so hard to support. The Christmas campaign this year aims to raise awareness using one mother’s powerful story in a way that will resonate with people at a time where reaching out, reconnecting and sending love is most relevant.”

Ailish McGlew, brand communications manager, An Post said “Christmas for An Post is all about working hard to ensure Irish families and friends both at home and abroad are connected. This year we are also on a journey to improve the quality of life for the 10,000 people who are homeless or living in temporary accommodation. The Send Love campaign is about bringing those two forces together to allow our customers feel a part of the solution to support Ireland’s homeless community get back on their feet.

The campaign also reintroduces expat Alison Griffin who currently lives in Vietnam and Conor Biddle and Sean Smyth who will be away on holidays again this Christmas. The series of stories together show the lengths that An Post can and will go to, to connect Irish families everywhere.

The campaign, which launches this week, runs across TV, digital, radio, OOH, in-store and on An Post’s social channels using the hashtag #SendLove.
