The American Football experience goes behind simply watching the team you support, cheering at their success, mourning their failures and angrily contesting officiating decisions. For football fans, it’s about so much more than that. It’s all about how they watch the game. It’s the company they’re with, the snacks, the stats, and the trash-talk in your fantasy league group chat.
Capturing this portrait of the average football fan and their dysfunctional Gridiron-goggling gang, creative agency Little Hands of Stone has teamed up with Hungry Man director Dan Opsal to show why everyone’s Thursday Night Football crew isn’t complete without an Amazon Alexa.
Matt McCain, co-founder of Little Hands of Stone says, “NFL football is a team sport. Not just when you play it, but when you watch it. That’s why most fans have a crew they like to watch football with - the people they celebrate and commiserate with on a weekly basis. In this case, every Thursday night.”
The series of 30- and 15- second spots follow the crew through the highs, lows, and arguably regrettable moments that come with watching football together. Each of the spots showcases new ways that Amazon’s voice assistant AI Alexa can enhance the football-watching experience - whether that’s re-watching an interception, configuring your smart home appliances to react wildly to your team’s touchdowns, or rubbing your friends nose in their team’s poor performances. The spots will stream nationally on Amazon Prime during Thursday Night Football, from October 20, 2022.
