TVC created by McCann Germany and The Back Room McCann features DIY video from everyday people demonstrating community in the face of the pandemic
Together, everything is possible - this is what ALDI Nord and ALDI SÜD are advocating in their joint TV commercial by McCann Germany and The Back Room McCann, the specialist agency for ALDI NORD. The value retailers affirm their commitment to supplying people with all necessary goods and connecting them. "Because ALDI is here for you" is the tagline of the new TV spot.
The film's unusual style is also adapted to the new reality: selfie videos of employees in ALDI stores and hundreds of people at home. They have been asked to create a powerful plea for solidarity and for jointly defying the current crisis. The TVC is part of the comprehensive initiative #gemeingehtalles (together, everything is possible) and calls on people in Germany to share more selfie videos from their homes using the hashtag #gemeinsamgehtalles.
"At ALDI we work together to ensure that you are provided with everything you need," is how the new TV and online spot by ALDI SÜD and ALDI Nord begins. The TVC is now on air in Germany. In addition to the ALDI employees in the warehouses and branches of the discounter, the spot focuses on the 82.7 million Germans who continue to be there for each other despite the coronavirus crisis, social distancing and confinement measures.
Through the spot, ALDI joins the community of those who continue to help each other, from the neighbor who goes shopping for an elderly lady, to doctors, teachers, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and even grandchildren. Because, as the TVC concludes, "together, everything is possible. And that’s why we thank our staff - and you - for being there."
ALDI is thanking its employees and reinforcing its commitment to care for and connect people, the latter above all through its ALDI TALK services in Germany. Last week, the discounter launched its initiative #gemeinsamgehtalles. On Friday ALDI published a cooperation with McDonalds, that had closed most of its restaurants. Employees from McDonalds can now join ALDI to work for the time of the coronavirus crisis.
