adidas's New Film Series 'Ready for Sport' Stars Football Legend Lionel Messi

adidas has unveiled a new ‘Ready For Sport’ film series, created by Iris and with music from DOLCE, that places focus on athletes around the world as they prepare for a busy summer of sporting action. In the first episode, ‘Lionel Messi: The Gift’, the brand captures widespread anticipation for the return of competitive football by focusing on one of the sport’s most recognisable talents.

Messi has excelled as one of football’s greatest stars for over a decade, and at 33 years old remains a talisman for the game. In this film he reflects on how honoured he feels to have been able to enjoy such a long career working in football, concluding that “the greatest gift for all is to create joy for others”.

The team at DOLCE sourced ‘The Beginning’ by Peru as the soundtrack for the series, which underpins Messi’s emotive dialogue with chiming pianos and atmospheric synth pads. The track then utilises booming sub-bass and distorted percussion to build to a powerful crescendo.
