Kaskade has released the video for his latest single ‘A Little More’, directed by Able & Baker’s multi-award winning Remy Cayuela. The mockumentary style promo, which follows a tourist who incorrectly believes he’s on holiday in Hawaii, was released last week.
In Cayuela’s creation a lone traveller finds himself very far from his intended destination of Hawaii. Instead of enjoying and exploring the exotic islands, the holidaymaker finds himself in the ice-tinged climate of Iceland.
Remy comments ‘My first idea was to play with the form. To propose a mockumentary for a music video is not really what people expect and that’s precisely what I like about it. I wanted to surprise the audience by telling them the absurd story of a tourist who boarded the wrong plane and arrived in Iceland instead of Hawaii. The only thing is he doesn’t really seem to compute he arrives somewhere else. The main character's actions evoke an uncanny sense of optimism that compliments the comedy.’
Enthusiastically clad in a Hawaiian shirt, ‘I Love Hawaii’ t-shirt and shorts, the traveller tries to make the most of his disastrous trip despite the locals ignoring his frequent ‘Alohas’.
Remy adds ‘I’m a big fan of the TV show The Office and I think the mockumentary form which mixes real life and fiction is a fabulous base for absurd comedy.’
Remy recently picked up 3 awards at the 4th Seinema short-film festival for his film ‘By Mutual Agreement’. Remy adds the Best Film, Best Actor and the Audience Award prizes to his Vevo Must See Award at the 2014 UKMVAs and his first prize at this year’s Young Director Awards.
Able&Baker – which forms a part of Park Village – boast a roster of both experienced and fresh young directors who specialise in music videos and content.
